Psychological Counseling Services (PCS) provides an accepting, safe, supportive environment with treatment tailored to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. We recognize that people in the LGBT community may not seek out psychological services for fear of prejudice and insensitivity. You can be confident that every member of the PCS staff strongly believes in the value of diversity and honors the dignity and self-worth of every client. Our counselors, psychologists and physicians are dedicated to the mental health of the LGBT community.
PCS recognizes the unique treatment needs of the LGBT community. We affirm the uniqueness and value of all our clients, and strive to help everyone celebrate and live fully in their authentic selves. We help our LGBT clients address a range of issues– discrimination and homophobia, gender identity and expression, the coming out process, trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, sexual compulsivity, relationship issues – in order to heal old and current wounds and develop healthy copings skills that lead to a happier life.
Our goal is to help you find new ways to live life without compulsive behaviors, the use of alcohol and drugs, and the lingering effects of trauma, anxiety and depression. Whether you are single, partnered, closeted, transitioning, poz or questioning, you will find an accepting, judgment-free environment at PCS. We offer a team of culturally-sensitive clinicians who can help you embrace who you are and guide you through the regular and special challenges that people in the LGBT community face.
At PCS, we work to help you develop healthy communication, intimacy, sexuality, boundaries, coping skills and self-esteem.
