Hello, my name is Dr. Agnes McKay, a post-doctoral resident at PCS. My Bachelor of Arts was completed at Arizona State University in Interdisciplinary Humanities with a minor in Media studies. In addition, I completed two years of pre-medical courses focusing on anatomy and integrated healthcare. My Doctorate in Clinical Psychology was completed at Midwestern University, Glendale, AZ.
I come from a very eclectic background/cultures. I am always myself and will be open and honest with you. I am open minded, empathetic, comfortable with various lifestyles, cultures, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual identity/orientations, and interests. I love working with others, and feel very blessed that you put your trust in me in order to help you, as well as have the incredible opportunity to see you grow and challenge yourself in a way that will improve your quality of life. My promise to you is that you will never feel judged for who you are, I will support you in your quest to make positive changes in your life. This journey is about you and what is important to you; for your voice and choice to be heard.

My passions and focus are in trauma work, including self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, self-esteem difficulties, eating disorders, various abuse, rape, and other experiences of victimization. Much of what you will experience is exploring your present, how it impacts your everyday life, and how it could potentially shape your future.
In addition, I emphasize self-empowerment, self-love, growing in your authentic and genuine self, focus on awareness and insight, boundaries and assertiveness training, spirituality exploration, body image issues, life transitions, PTSD, anxiety, depression, stressors, interpersonal difficulties, as well as sexuality and LGBTAQ concerns. I work with individuals, couples, and families.
My preferred approaches include Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Psychoeducation, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy may also be utilized when appropriate.
I strive to help you feel heard, understood, respected, safe, supported, and comfortable. I will make sure to address the person you are as a whole, as the mind, body, and soul all work together to create the unique person that you are.
