“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” – Aristotle

I have been in your shoes. I know what it is like to reach out for help. It can be both scary and exciting, and above all it is brave. I want to support you in your journey. I believe we are all constantly learning, moving and growing in our personal and professional lives. Therapy is a journey of self-exploration. It is both what happens in and outside of the therapy room.

I have worked in the mental health field (as a coach, counselor or art therapist) since 2011. My practice is grounded in my values. I value connection. I value compassion. I value creativity. My mission is to serve and give back through my work in the mental health community and to be an advocate for Art Therapy and counseling. Creativity is healing and when we bring our creative ideas to life, we give birth to our own unique stories. Therapy is a human profession. The relationship between a client and therapist provides a unique opportunity for learning, healing, and practicing new healthy behaviors. I believe we are all imperfect and that makes us unique and interesting.

While I believe everyone can benefit from therapy, it is also important to find the right fit in a therapist. I specialize in shame reduction, trauma work, and living a wholehearted life. I incorporate art therapy, positive psychology, expressive arts, the Daring Way™ (based on the research of Brené Brown), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work with individuals, families and teens.

The Imperfectionista Manifesto:

  • I believe we are all searching for meaningful connection
I believe creativity comes in all forms
I believe imperfection is real, authentic, and shockingly beautiful
    I believe growth is remarkable
    … and not always comfortable.
I believe in good ‘ol fashion fun
I believe in discovering your voice AND unlocking your inner child
I believe we never stop discovering new things about …the world/ourselves/how we relate
I believe in building an authentic imperfect life

And I know you do too.
Welcome.

Love – kt
