I see your essence as whole and complete already, rather than someone who is broken and needs to be fixed. Yet due to past conditioning, trauma and deep rooted negative beliefs, you might feel stuck in chronic states of unhappiness and disconnected from your inherent joy. You may also find yourself engaged in patterns and ways of relating to others that feel inauthentic. It is understandable and natural that you seek to be free from negative thinking patterns, to overcome addictive tendencies and find harmony within your relationship. Through the therapy process, we will walk the path of self-discovery, exploration, acceptance and healing. I tailor my sessions to meet your individual needs and the unique needs of couples and families.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I’ve been practicing psychotherapy in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area since 2005. My therapy career has been devoted to the following specialities: Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) (with a sub-speciality in infidelity and boundary issues), Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and treatment of sex and love addiction.

In couples therapy, you experience the possibility for simple, yet profound transformation in your relationship. Discover deep listening and understanding, honest dialogue, and true closeness and intimacy. Break free from stubborn patterns of relating that leave you unfulfilled, lonely and frustrated. Heal from the broken bonds of affairs and other painful betrayals. In working with couples, I practice a highly researched, effective and evidence-based approach called Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). EFT is a proven treatment that assists couples in healing from pain and creating closeness and connection again. Learn more about EFT here: http://www.iceeft.com.

I have received extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), an empirically validated therapy model that helps to heal from disturbing events and emotional trauma. Learn more about EMDR here: http://www.emdria.org.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a very effective form of cognitive behavioral treatment that offers skills to help clients learn mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. Learn more about DBT here: http://behavioraltech.org.

Mindfulness forms the foundation of DBT, as well as many therapeutic modalities, and is an integral part of my practice. Mindfulness has many facets, one being a focus on radical acceptance and a trust toward life and the present moment. Through courageously being present with life and accepting what is, we recognize a deeper stillness within. In this stillness, we discover compassion for ourselves and others and find a space for profound healing to take place.

I offer a safe and supportive environment for therapy. You can expect to find a warm, compassionate and open-minded companion, as well as one who will directly challenge and gently confront you at times during the therapy process. Many of my clients find that the process of therapy helps them to connect with their own inner wisdom and light, which allows them to recognize and restore their true sense of self. This process of self-discovery enables many to live a more harmonious, authentic and heart-centered life.

Exploring your life together is a sacred space and I feel truly honored to guide you in this process. I offer this space for you. I invite you to come in and to discover your natural state of being.
